Privacy policy.

1. The core rule: local processing

Usefultoolz is built so that security is architectural, not promised. Every image, PDF and QR tool executes as JavaScript and WebAssembly inside your browser tab. When you compress an image, merge PDFs, or remove a background, the file stays in your browser's memory and the result is handed straight back to you. We have no server that receives, processes, or stores your files - so there is nothing of yours on our side to leak, breach, or sell.

2. What we store

Exactly one thing, on your device: your theme preference (light or dark), saved in your browser's localStorage. It is never transmitted. Clearing your browser data removes it.

3. What we don't collect

• No names, emails, or accounts - there is no sign-up.
• No file contents, filenames, or file metadata.
• No keystrokes, clipboard contents, or camera/microphone data (the QR scanner processes camera frames locally and never records).
• No first-party tracking cookies.

4. Third-party services involved in loading the site

To serve pages we rely on: our hosting provider (standard server access logs) and the jsDelivr CDN (some open-source libraries loaded on demand). The Background Remover additionally downloads its AI model (once, then cached) from IMG.LY's model server - the photo itself still never leaves your device. All fonts are self-hosted - no font service is contacted. Fetching these resources exposes standard technical data - your IP address and browser user-agent - to those services, subject to their own privacy policies. They are used to deliver code, not to profile you.

5. Advertising (applies when ads are enabled)

Usefultoolz is free, and we may fund it with display advertising through Google AdSense. When ads are live:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing. You can opt out of personalized advertising any time at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info/choices.
• Visitors from the EEA and UK are shown a consent message and can choose personalized or non-personalized ads.
• Ads never touch your files: processing stays 100% local regardless of advertising.

6. Analytics (planned)

If we add analytics, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookie-less tool (such as Plausible or Umami) measuring page views in aggregate - no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking. We will never add tooling that observes your files.

7. Children's privacy

The site is a general-purpose utility with no accounts and no data collection, and is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect no personal information from anyone - including children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially (for example, when advertising launches), the effective date above is updated and the change is described here. Material changes are never retroactive.

Questions about this policy or about the site? Because Usefultoolz never receives your files and collects no personal data, there is usually nothing of yours for us to access, correct, or delete - but we still want to hear from you. Write to support@usefultoolz.xyz.

This policy is written in plain language on purpose - if any sentence is unclear, ask us. It is provided for transparency and is not a substitute for legal advice.

10. Terms of use

Usefultoolz is free to use for anyone, for personal or commercial work, without an account. The tools are provided "as is" with no warranty - always keep a copy of your original files, and check important output (an invoice, a contract, a visa photo) before relying on it.

You are responsible for what you process. Only convert or edit files you own or have permission to use - for example, removing watermarks from someone else's photos without rights can break copyright law, and that responsibility is yours, not the site's. Do not use the tools for anything illegal.

Because everything runs locally in your browser, a tool failing never puts your files at risk - but we cannot be liable for lost time or lost work caused by a failed conversion.
