FAQ

Will compression ruin my image quality?
Not visibly at sensible settings. Around 75-85% quality, photos are typically 60-90% smaller while looking identical on screen. Drag the slider lower for maximum savings, higher for near-perfect fidelity.
Which format gives the smallest files?
WebP usually beats JPG by 25-35% at the same quality and keeps transparency like PNG. 'Auto' re-encodes everything to WebP for this reason. Choose PNG only when you need exact, lossless output.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photos never leave your device - you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Is there a file size or batch limit?
No hard limit - it depends on your device memory. Hundreds of typical photos at once are fine on any modern laptop or phone.
