Which format should I choose?
WebP is the best everyday choice for the web (small + supports transparency). JPG is the most compatible for sharing photos. PNG is lossless and keeps perfect edges for logos and screenshots. AVIF gives the smallest files but isn't supported everywhere yet. ICO is specifically for website favicons.
Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes - drop a .heic or .heif file and it's decoded locally in your browser, then converted to whatever format you pick. Nothing is sent to a server, which makes this one of the few fully private HEIC converters.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose (white by default). PNG, WebP and ICO keep transparency intact.
Will animated GIFs stay animated?
No - canvas-based conversion keeps the first frame only. Animated output formats are on the roadmap with a dedicated video/GIF engine.
