Works on digital PDFs (scans need OCR) - converted locally

How it works

  1. Drop your PDF

We read the text layer page by page with Mozilla's PDF engine.

  2. Rebuilt as .docx

Paragraphs are reconstructed in order with a page break for each PDF page.

  3. Edit anywhere

Open in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and revise the text freely.

FAQ

Why doesn't the Word file look identical to my PDF?
PDFs store painted glyphs, not flowing text, so layout can't be perfectly reverse-engineered in a browser. We optimize for clean, editable content (headings become paragraphs in order); big services that promise perfect DOCX do it server-side and still struggle with complex layouts. If looks matter, use PDF to JPG/PPT instead.
What about scanned PDFs?
A scan has no text layer, so there's nothing to extract - that needs OCR (our Image to Text tool handles images; PDF OCR is on the roadmap).
Is my document uploaded?
No - extraction and the .docx build happen entirely in your browser.
